Come Join the Team!

The 39th international CORK Regatta Series is one you don’t want to miss! This sailing season, sailors from around the globe will descend upon Portsmouth Olympic Harbor to compete, enjoy Kingston, meet new friends and have fun. There is a full stack of events on the regatta schedule including ISAF graded Laser and Radial competitions and the Contender World Championships. POH will also be a beehive of activity with numerous Canadian and North American titles up for grabs as well! You can see the full schedule at http://www.cork.org/schedule.html.

There is no doubt that the key to a successful summer at CORK is the enthusiasm, skills, and knowledge brought onboard by volunteers. If you are keen to contribute to the wonderful sport of sailing while having a great time- we’d love to have you as a CORK team member this year! (Even if you registered last year- please do so again this year so we can ensure your information is up to date, and that we know how you would like to be involved this year).

So you ask…sure I’m keen but what can I do??
There are dozens of different roles which you can play. Certainly many hands are required on the water to run races, but you don’t have to step in a boat if you would rather help out on shore. If you are keen to be on the water but don’t have a lot of experience with race management- we will find the perfect thing for you to do! CORK is also always happy to welcome folks who would like to provide boats for race committee and/or safety. Please let us know if you may be interested in doing this as well.

Note: High School Volunteer hours can be achieved by volunteering at CORK…in other words, you can obtain your volunteer hours in the sun outside of school time!
