This weekend CORK is hosting boats from Canada the US and New Zealand at the Etchells Canadian and Olson 30 North American Championships.  We had a hot and sunny start again today. Wind was 10 Knots WNW at launch, and shifted to 9 Knots from the SW by the first gun, and continued to shift throughout the afternoon. The wind shifted to NW for the final race of the day.

 

The Etchells fleet completed 4 course races today.  Overall standings are as follows Allan Leibel (NYC) in 3rd,  Mark Fleckenstein (SSC) in 2nd and leading the fleet is Dirk Kneulman (RCYC).

 

In the Olson 30 fleet The distance race started at 11:42 this morning and the first boat finished at 2:55pm Distance race standings were Michael Hull (KYC) in 3rd,  Thomas Bolland (BYC) in 2nd and Ben Rotteveel in 1st.  There was a big wind shift  in the last 300 meters to the N for the last three boats to finish.   Overall standings at the end of race day see Michael Hull  (KYC) move up into 3rd place with Rotteveel (CBYC) and Bruce Rand (CBYC) tied at the top

 

Tomorrow’s racing will start at 10:00 am, with the both fleets course racing.
