Day 3 – August 21st
Kingston delivered again for the third day of racing at CORK OCR & Sail Canada! The southwest breeze averaged 14 knots through the afternoon, under sunny skies.
Today marked the last day of racing for the Finn fleet. Despite being a small fleet, the competitors showed great comradery and on and off the water. Final results after 9 races over three days are:
1st – Steve Landeau (USA)
2nd – Simon van Wonderen (CAN)
3rd – Fujimura Yuji
The 49er & FX fleets continued their racing today with four races sailed. Going into the last day of racing tomorrow, the leaders are:
49er – 1st Farmer/Parekh (CAN), 2nd Wood/Wood (CAN), 3rd Ferguson/Ferguson (CAN)
FX – 1st ten Hove/Millen (CAN), 2nd Bolland/Flanagan (CAN), 3rd Bonin/Bonin (CAN)
The Laser and Radial fleets, completed four races today, to put them ahead of schedule with two more days to go. The was some movement in the top three of the Laser fleet today, the leaders are:
Laser – 1st Davis (CAN), 2nd Rasmussen (USA), 3rd Gallant (CAN)
Radial – 1st Vittecoq (CAN), 2nd Hatter (USA), 3rd Johnson (USA)
The I14 fleet sailed their distance race today and will return to course racing for their final day tomorrow.
